In 2016 Superhighways worked with Volunteer Centre Sutton to design, develop a website to make it easy for local people to volunteer.
With over 50,000 people volunteering in Sutton at least once a year and contributing to over £20million to the local economy, Volunteer Centre Sutton decided the centre needed an inspirational website to support this vibrant community.
List of issues with the old site
-
It was a bespoke website that they could neither update nor make changes to its structure.
-
There was no social media integration
-
Concerns were raised how accessible the site was and whether people were getting a good user experience
-
And a key question was "Could Sutton's residents find volunteering opportunities easily?".
Required from a new site:
-
Easy to update
-
Something to inspire volunteers into Community Action
- Integrated contacts management database for volunteering
- Clear navigation and content layout
- Blogs, new feeds
The impact of the new site for the team has been
-
We can update and add content really easliy
-
The site looks vibrant and represents our identity really well
-
The integrated, database, where local groups can register their volunteering opportunies, has resulted in more general enquires from Sutton's residents in local opportunties
" We are excited about our new website. We really feel that we are serving local groups better through having a better design website......thanks to Superhighways who interpreted and implemented our vision. "
